Let Heaven Rejoice
Bob Dufford, SJ

Let heaven rejoice and earth
be glad; let all creation sing.
Let children proclaim through
ev’ry land: “Hosanna to our King!”

Sound the trumpet into
the night; the day of
the Lord is near.
Wake his people,
Lift your voice,
proclaim it to the world.

Let heaven rejoice and earth
be glad; let all creation sing.
Let children proclaim through
ev’ry land: “Hosanna to our King!”

Rise in splendor;
shake off your sleep;
put on your robes of joy.
And in the morning you
shall see the glory of the Lord.

Let heaven rejoice and earth
be glad; let all creation sing.
Let children proclaim through
ev’ry land: “Hosanna to our King!”

Raise your voices, be not afraid.
Proclaim it in every land.
Christ has died, but He has risen;
He will come again.

Let heaven rejoice and earth
be glad; let all creation sing.
Let children proclaim through
ev’ry land: “Hosanna to our King!”

Glory to God on high!

And peace on Earth,
Goodwill towards men.
We worship you,
we give you thanks,
we praise you for your glory.
We worship you,
we give you thanks,
we praise you for your glory.

Glory! Glory to God!
Glory to God on high!

Glory to God on high!

1st Reading

1 Sam 1:24-28

A reading from the first Book of Samuel

In those days,
Hannah brought Samuel with her,
   along with a three-year-old bull,
   an ephah of flour, and a skin of wine,
   and presented him at the temple of the LORD in Shiloh.
After the boy’s father had sacrificed the young bull,
   Hannah, his mother, approached Eli and said:
   “Pardon, my lord!
As you live, my lord,
   I am the woman who stood near you here, praying to the LORD.
I prayed for this child, and the LORD granted my request.
Now I, in turn, give him to the LORD;
   as long as he lives, he shall be dedicated to the LORD.”
She left Samuel there.

The Word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God.

Responsorial Psalm

℟. (see 1a) My heart exults in the Lord, my Savior.

“My heart exults in the LORD,
   my horn is exalted in my God.
I have swallowed up my enemies;
   I rejoice in my victory.”

℟. My heart exults in the Lord, my Savior.

“The bows of the mighty are broken,
   while the tottering gird on strength.
The well-fed hire themselves out for bread,
   while the hungry batten on spoil.
The barren wife bears seven sons,
   while the mother of many languishes.”

℟. My heart exults in the Lord, my Savior.

“The LORD puts to death and gives life;
   he casts down to the nether world;
   he raises up again.
The Lord makes poor and makes rich,
   he humbles, he also exalts.”

℟. My heart exults in the Lord, my Savior.

“He raises the needy from the dust;
   from the dung heap he lifts up the poor,
To seat them with nobles
   and make a glorious throne their heritage.”

℟. My heart exults in the Lord, my Savior.

Alleluia, Alleluia.

Rex géntium et lapis anguláris Ecclésiæ:
veni, et salva hóminem quem de limo formásti

Alleluia, Alleluia.

Gospel

Lk 1:46-56

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke

Mary said:

“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
   my spirit rejoices in God my savior,
   for he has looked upon his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed;
   the Almighty has done great things for me,
   and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
   in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
   and has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones
   and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
   and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel
   for he remembered his promise of mercy,
   the promise he made to our fathers,
   to Abraham and his children for ever.”

Mary remained with Elizabeth about three months
   and then returned to her home.

At the end of the Gospel, the Deacon, or the Priest, acclaims:

The Gospel of the Lord.

All reply:

Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

Then he kisses the book, saying quietly:

Through the words of the Gospel
may our sins be wiped away.

The Gospel of the Lord.
Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ.

O Come Divine Messiah

O come, Divine Messiah,
O Word of God
and Mary's Son:
we long to see your triumph
when sin and death are done!

Lord Jesus, come!
Come to your own!
With eager eyes, we watch
the skies 'till on the clouds
You take Your Throne!

O come, Divine Messiah,
O Word of God
and Mary's Son:
we long to see your triumph
when sin and death are done!

Lord Jesus, come!
Come to our earth! and there begin to banish sin and bring us all to heavenly birth!

O come, Divine Messiah,
O Word of God
and Mary's Son:
we long to see your triumph
when sin and death are done!

Dear Savior, haste!
Come, come to earth!
Dispel the night and show
Your face and bid us hail the dawn of grace.

O come, Divine Messiah,
O Word of God
and Mary's Son:
we long to see your triumph
when sin and death are done!

Holy
Mass of Christ the Savior
Dan Schutte, SJ

Holy, holy, holy
Lord God of Hosts.
Heaven and Earth are full,
are full of Your glory.
Hosanna, hosanna,
hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comes,
who comes in the
name of the Lord.
Hosanna, hosanna,
hosanna in the highest.

When We Eat This Bread
Light from Light
M.V. Francisco, SJ

When we eat this Bread
and drink this Cup,
we proclaim your Death,
O Lord,
until you come again,
until you come again,
we proclaim your Death,
O Lord.

The Lord's Prayer
Traditional

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who
trespass against us; (Hmm)
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us,
deliver us from evil.

For the kingdom,
the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

Lamb of God
Eric Robert M. Santos

Lamb of God, you take away
the sins of the world,
have mercy on us,
have mercy on us.

Lamb of God, you take away
the sins of the world,
have mercy on us,
have mercy on us.

Lamb of God, you take away
the sins of the world,
grant us peace.

Magnificat
David Haas

All that I am, sings of the
God who brings new life
to birth in me.
My spirit soars on the
wings of my Lord.

My soul gives glory to the Lord,
rejoicing in my saving God;
who looks upon me in my state,
and all the world will call me blest;
For God works marvels in my sight, and holy, holy
is God's name!

All that I am, sings of the
God who brings new life
to birth in me.
My spirit soars on the
wings of my Lord.

God’s mercy is from age to age,
on those who follow in fear;
whose arm is power and strength, and scatters all
the proud of heart;
who casts the mighty from
their thrones, and raises up
the lowly ones!

All that I am, sings of the
God who brings new life
to birth in me.
My spirit soars on the
wings of my Lord.

God fills the starving with good things,
the rich are left with empty hands;
protecting all the faithful ones,
remembering Israel with mercy,
the promise known to those before
and to their children for ever!

All that I am, sings of the
God who brings new life
to birth in me.
My spirit soars on the
wings of my Lord.

On the wings of my Lord.

Draw Us to God's Heart
Manoling V. Francisco, SJ

We await Your coming to
the world, You begotten of
God's eternal love.
Lord Jesus, be now born amongst us.
Draw the world back to
God's heart.

Proclaim the Joyful Message
James V. Marchionda, O.P.

Proclaim the joyful message that our God
is coming to earth.
Let the valleys be filled and the mountains made low
preparing for His holy birth.

He will come in the spirit of wisdom, to bring the world justice and right.
The poor and the lowly
will know him, for the
Lord will be their light.

Proclaim the joyful message that our God
is coming to earth.
Let the valleys be filled and the mountains made low
preparing for His holy birth.

Soon God’s creatures
will all live together.
The wolf will be guest
of the lamb.
The calf will walk next to the lion
and be led by the child’s hand.

Proclaim the joyful message that our God
is coming to earth.
Let the valleys be filled and the mountains made low
preparing for His holy birth.

Soon the mountain of God
will be holy, all war and destruction will cease.
The earth will be filled with
the wisdom of the coming
Prince of Peace.

Proclaim the joyful message that our God
is coming to earth.
Let the valleys be filled and the mountains made low
preparing for His holy birth.

Balang Araw
M.V. Francisco, SJ Silvino Borres, SJ

Balang araw ang liwanag,
matatanaw ng bulag
ang kagandahan ng umaga,
pagmamasdan sa tuwina.

Aleluya, aleluya!
Narito na'ng manunubos.
Luwalhatiin ang Diyos!

Balang araw tatakbo
ang pilay at ang lumpo,
Magsasayaw sa kagalakan, Iindak sa katuwaan.

Aleluya, aleluya!
Narito na'ng manunubos.
Luwalhatiin, Luwalhatiin,
Luwalhatiin ang Diyos!
